It is wise to follow rules when it comes to starting a catering business

posted on 5 September 2011

Being a caterer is not an instant thing. I love cooking and being able to feed other people with my food is something that I have always wanted. My father funded me to start my own catering company. I stay in Nottingham and there is a lot of competition in that area. I did not use all the money to start a big company, I decided to start of as a small time caterer in Nottingham. I started off at my own kitchen, at first I would cater for small gatherings. When people started liking my food and also developing a certain level of trust, I had to expand. I could not keep on cooking at my own kitchen because it was too small to handle it all. It was also against the rules and regulations of catering premises. So I rented out space and had a huge kitchen constructed and hired one more chef for help in the kitchen. My client list increased and it reached a time that I had to make them make appointments according to my calendar. If I had other clients then they had to wait.

Personalized Beverage Napkins

Parties always call for beverage napkins. But aren’t beverage napkins the same as cocktail napkins? Well, sort of. Generally, beverage napkins are a bit smaller since they are mostly 5x5 inches only. Nonetheless, their styles and function are comparable to that of cocktail napkins. Anyway, if you are planning on throwing a party for yourself or for your child, why not consider personalized beverage napkins? These napkins can be made of paper or cloth. You can create your own designs or choose from pre-made designs. Personalized beverage napkins will surely make your party more fun and memorable. If it is a children’s party, you can have child-friendly and funny designs printed on the napkins. If it is your birthday party, on the other hand, you can have your name or initials printed on the napkins. You can also include a favorite poem or quote, or even a line from your favorite song.

Simple Truth: Apple Pie is the Best Thing Ever

posted on 24 September 2010

The taste of warm apple pie swirling around my mouth and travelling down my throat to my stomach is one of my favorite foods. Working for a wedding catering company, I love to introduce this dessert whenever I get the chance. I like other pies like pumpkin and coconut cream, but apple pie always puts my hunger to rest when i need a sweet treat. The crust is the key to the pie. A flaky crust is nice , but I prefer a crunchy one. I can still remember Saturday afternoons when my grandmother would bake, I can still smell the scent of the air which was filled with the scent of baked apples and cinnamon. I cannot make apple pie myself but I am always on the lookout for one that tastes close to the ones my grandmother used to make. Apple pie is a great finish after a meal at a cook-out or comforting after taking a warm bath on a cold day. I enjoying eating it as soon it comes out of the oven with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream. Sometimes, even right out of the fridge without even heating it up.
