With the growth of industrial automation came the development of mechatronics. Mechatronics is becoming a prominent form of automation. It is mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, and software engineering combined, to generate a simpler, more economical, and reliable system. Its purpose is to have an engineering perspective towards industrial automation. The term was first used in Japan by Mr. Tetsuro Mori of Yaskawalast 1969. Before it only involved mechanics and electronics, but due to the growing demands of the times and as technical systems has become more complex, it now involves engineering mathematics, mechanical design, mechanics, machine component design, circuits and systems, electronics and communications, control theory, programming, digital signal processing, power engineering, and robotics.
Currently, it is an advanced technique in manufacturing. It is one of the fastest growing career areas in the world. It is commonly used for quality control and provides for reliability, consistency, and profitability. It is a field formed through new technology, continuous innovation, and global demand.
