Using decorative kitchen tile is rather expensive and if you want to use such tile for your entire kitchen, cost could be sky high and outrageously prohibitive. You can achieve the same overall look but without the same high cost of decorative tiles by mixing both decorative tiles and plain tiles that cost less. Some of those who have tried this technique actually swear that they got better results and they like their kitchen now better than if they had used pure decorative kitchen tile. You can achieve the look you want without having to spend a fortune by thinking of inexpensive, alternative materials to use without sacrificing style and the design you want. Ceramic tiles can be made to look like the more expensive slate and you still come out ahead because slate needs to be resealed several times during its lifetime while ceramic tiles require less attention and maintenance. Many homeowners like their kitchen to be unique and special. You can easily achieve this by choosing your kitchen tile wisely knowing that the most expensive is not always the best.
