Learning how to do things on my own

I've just moved to a new place. I'm a college freshman and the school where I got enrolled in was more than 2 hours away from my parents' house so I have no choice but to rent an affordable room near the campus. I'm not used to living all by myself. The whole place was just so empty and quiet like I almost feel that the silence is deafening. I tried thinking of ways on how to kill my boredom. Reading was not a good option. I felt like sleeping whenever I'm reading so I opened my ipod and started listening to the songs but then I noticed that I'm starting to hate the songs that I've once used to love. I'd like to know how do i take songs off my ipod and load it with new songs as well. It was something I haven't done before as I've always been asking my sister to do this for me. Now that I'm living all alone, I need to know how to do things all by myself without asking for anybody's help.
