Once a friend of mine purchased a stolen car. She did not know that the car was stolen at purchase but when she went to register the car, she found out that it was recorded as a stolen car. Devastated is an understatement of how she felt. She had spent a good deal of money on the car although it was a secondhand car and she was not willing to let the matter rest at that point. She did not know what to do though, and confronting the dealer with the facts was not an option at that time. I advised her to go to consumer advice uk office in order to be advised on what to do. There, she was served by a consumer rights advocate who took details of all she had to say about the car purchase. The dealer did not see what was coming, because three days later, he was charged of holding a stolen car and selling it to an unsuspecting buyer. My friend's money was returned to her in full amount.
